Invite your friends to like the CastleVille fanpage in facebook and help unlock items for everyone.

Have you noticed the CastleVille Happiness Meter? If you visit their fanpage at facebook.com/castleville, you’ll notice that they have a tab for CastleVille Happiness, this is how it goes, at 5 million likes, Zynga will give free cool items to all 5 million who likes the page and requested for a gift.

The prizes are: Archery Target, Expansion Gem, Hyper Craft, Castle Topiary, Fountain, Good Morning Glories, Silver Queen Statue and Cannon.

Each of these items has particular numbers of likes before you can unlock them and accept it as a gift. Right now, there are over 700,000 likes, which means that the Archery Target, Expansion Gem and Hyper Craft are unlocked and you can now Request them as a gift. 4 million+ to go before it reaches to the Cannon that’s worth a 5million likes. This doesn’t sound impossible since other ville franchise series has over than 5million players. CastleVille hasn’t informed what items are these for, but it should be used in the game. anyway, almost every player will have it.

Try to check CastleVille and watch out if it reaches 5 million, then go to the Happiness Meter and click on the items to accept them as a gift. Once the game is launched you’ll get them in your inventory.

But not only that, Zynga is also giving charity either for clean water disaster relief or education. You can also vote which charity partners should win.

CastleVille Trailer

Catch the official CastleVille Trailr that Zynga posted on YouTube recently. It is a promotional video that introduce some of the interesting characters that you’ll meet once the game is live. There has been development with the characters and added some more clues of who they are in the game. It looks like Gisselle turns to be Yvette and Antonio is now Rafael.

It starts with an epic voice of the narrator about a beautiful land where happiness rules. It firstly introduces Tom, the Dragon Slayer and also a Cupcake Slayer. It looks like he was caught in eating cupcake all over his mustache. Then George, the Miner that digs a dinosaurs’ skeleton showing off to Sonja, what makes him the Teddy Bear. Next was Rafael (former Antonio), the Playboy, it was funny that he opens his chest to show it to Yvette and Sonja, and both girls were driven like in a roller coaster.  Then there comes Sonja the Gold Digger, she’s a pirate and spent almost her life in shores but here comes George in his side. And last was Yvette the Lovely yet Lonely Fair Maiden.  We have a list of more information about CastleVille Characters in this site, you may want to check it too.

It also includes some quick screenshots of the rest of the characters and interior looks of the castles, even fireworks! And before the trailer ends, it reveals some more characters in CastleVille. It looks like there is a good and bad side of the story.

CastleVille Developer Interviews

Since we are curious about CastleVille’s moves and what to expect with the game, Zynga open their doors to interview their Developers to get some insights of how things happening in CastleVille.

Interview with Stephen Rippy the Audio Director of CastleVille, he is responsible for everything we hear in the game. Like whistles, the sound effects of the character tasks, background sounds etc. He was also one of the developers of the Age of Empires back in 1997. He really a passionate with songs, sounds and also games. His favorite Game is the Yar’s Revenge of the Atari because of its constant drone that make him feel to throw space creatures. His favorite character is Goblin because of his nice voice.

Interview with Dave Pottinger the Lead Designer of CastleVille, his job is to make sure that the content and the system designs are working altogether for the strong storyline of CastleVille, such the conceptualizing and implementing game rules, story and content designs. He’s with Stephen Rippy in the creation the Age of Empires, and found gaming industry to be fitted to what he wants for a job. He mentioned some insights for the game, “We’ve hidden a lot of tidbits and hints throughout the quests.  Pay attention and you might just figure out some of the mysteries before your friends do!” His favorite Character is Tom because of his bravery and personality that wants to settledown if he finds the right girl.

Interview with Bill Jackson the Creative Director of Zynga Dallas, he spoke with the game’s goals and storyline. He said that CastleVille is not just a space that to fill and expand, but there are mysteries within.

CastleVille Characters

Here’s a quick recap of the characters that you will meet on the new Ville series of Zynga, the CastleVille. All these characters have their unique histories and personalities. These characters are NPCs or controlled by computers and they are part of the development of the game, but you will interact with them more often with important advice for thestoryline of the game. And since CastleVille is preparing itself for a strong story and these characters will have a big part of your success.


First is Sonja, she is a Gold Digger because she’s a Pirate. She’s pretty tough, with her cutlass- wielding pirate that has a hobby of stealing other people’s booty.
Then there is Rafael, who they call The Rugged Woodsman. He’s very charming and an adventurer who always have a big axe around him and unbuttoned shirts.
You’ll also meet, Tom – the Dragon Slayer. Oooh, sounds really fearless! He’s a knight with a thick Scottish accent and wants cupcakes. But hey, he’s searching for a fine lady that can make her settle down with his adventures.
And George, he is a friendly Miner. He is very kind and pure hearted.
And last but not the list of course, the Maiden, Yvette. She is none other than the Princess that you’ll get encounter prominently in the game. She looks like Rapunzel, with her beautiful voice and long hair (but not that long like Rapunzel has).
Now that you meet some of the characters in CastleVille, I’m getting really excited to know them more and I know you are too.

CastleVille will be arriving on Facebook soon.

Although CastleVille will build upon concepts that most Facebook gamers will already be very familiar with, it’s grander in scale and will introduce many more traditional fantasy and roleplaying elements to the world of social games.

The setting is a medieval one, straight out of a book of fairy-tales. You can follow the game’s story and its characters. You will be able to assemble your own items from raw materials and either utilize them for your own purposes or trade them with your friends and neighbors. No fantasy or medieval game is complete without combat, and there will be plenty of bad guys to fight. All sorts of beasties live outside of your castle and you and your friends will have to beat the back to expand your kingdom. There is lots of exploration in the game and the storyline is customized based on the actions you take. You meet characters and make them happy and unlock new characters as you progress. Your kingdom represents a beacon of happiness, and outside your borders lies what’s known as the “gloom,” an area of unhappiness and misfortune that you try to conquer.

CastleVille will feature many different characters that you interact with in the game. One character you’ll meet is George the friendly miner and yet another is Tom, an old knight who will help you on your quests. Another main character is the lovely Giselle, a beautiful princess with an equally lovely singing voice. In earlier games on Facebook, these computer-controlled characters have been mostly shallow and functional in nature. The computer-controlled characters in this game, however, will come to life and be a central part of the gameplay.

All in all, CastleVille promised to combine exciting elements from classic fantasy gaming with the fun and enjoyment of social gameplay.
